Just back from Levisham working on the ramp. Looks very impressive.

Well, what a year this was! Lots of firsts and lots of fun. Some new members, but always in the market for more, especially in specialist roles.
New toys on the drawing board, with my new "Project X" ready to start building!
Bring on 2012!

New year, new crazy projects!
After today's meet up, if all goes well, there could be a lot of great times ahead for our group this year and the public in general.
Always a friendly welcome from us come and say hello if you see us on the circuit this year!

The years first public and private events under the belt, some much needed training completed, new members joined, New artillery and morter section on the way, a rather unique vehicle being restored (we dont know if even a museum has one of these) and the enigmatic "Project X" due to start later in the year.
Bloody good start to the season.

Even though we are up to our maximum membership, there is still room & a welcome for the odd newbie.
We operate a strict three event "prospect" period to absorb new members into the group.
This gives you and us an opportunity to see if its a good fit all round.
The group will even provide loaner gear so you can gain experience in our chosen impressions to see if its what you want from your hobby.
Who could ask for more?
So if youre fence sitting, in doubts or just plain shy, man up and send me a PM :D

"Das Reich" could be the group for you and just as important, you could be just what "Das Reich" are looking for

Well, our last public show is 10 days away and our "Home" event to boot.
Strange that a small railway station in a rural corner of North Yorkshire should be considered such by a group containing members from all over the country, Poland, Greece and Germany but that is the measure of affection we hold the place in. So get yourselves down to Levisham station 12th-14th October to say "Hi there" and watch us at our best :D

You might even be able to help "Das Reich's" VIP guests (and great friends) fine a certain picture by Van Clomp.......

Very successful start to the season with Mapledurham (Great , but chilly event) and BUshey Hall, firmly becoming one of our favourites, under our belt.
New members, new equipment, new projects, new impressions, new scenarios, but the same old system of entertaining and educating the public in our own "Das Reich" style.
RGM next at Waltham Abbey. Take the time to stop by and say hi (Bring adult beverages please!)

Couldn't recommend these guys any more than I already do.

Top notch group, they work hard and play hard. Close knit, and you're always busy on a display.

You get to partake in very unique experiences. For example, Das Reich has the world's ONLY inflatable 1940 Berlin stamped rubber assault boat. We took it out at RGM two weekends ago on the water...that was...fantastic.

Couldn't ask for a better group to be in.

Well not quite THE only one in the world, but its the only one that holds air that we know of in private hands!
Big thanks for the kind words Dale!

Neily baby, Dale has a point, a rubber boat that doesn`t inflate is no longer a boat its a body bag, especially in water.....

Interesting way to go, death by rubber boat...

That aside, I can easily say this is one of the top groups in the country, possibly even europe. Their smaller size (30 something) keeps the group tight knit and avoids the "clique" feeling you get with larger groups. Sure they don't have Tigers or Stugs, but what they do have is some insane ideas to bring out the toys NO ONE ELSE has. They've got some badass projects coming down the pipe for 2013 and I have little to no doubt 2014 will be even better.

The new members learn rapidly drill and other useful techniques to keep them realistic, and practical. Honestly I can say I have learned from them things I will happily take back home to America and spread around, but will never find a group just like this one. These guys aren't hollywood reenactors, they keep it legit. They work as one, and play as one. I have never felt more welcome amongst a group than I have with them.

Beware, if you guest with Das Reich you get hooked!

Like N44 for the Yanks, Das Reich are "The Borg" when it comes to quality re-enactors looking for a quality home
