I [hopefully to become we] represent an observation post overlooking Maungdaw in april 1943 just before the 55th Inf Div counter-attacked and forced the British back into India.
Are main aim is to represent the standard Japanese soldier and teach the public about what the allies were up against in the Pacific and to disspell some myths about the Japanese in the process.

I hope you do well Tanaka - YOU have a very good PRODUCT there - next year with all the VJ Day events pending you could be very busy for the emperor. I hope it goes well and you do suceed in gathering members for the group. Its a great concept and as people have already said 'something different'.

VERA have occaisonally turned out in the Jungle Greens and always get a warm reception from Far East vets - who as you know consider themselves forgotten. I'm sure you will make the right sort of impact too!

Maybe you should consider doing Kohima day at Imphal Barracks York as one of your shows for next year.

Best of luck - I wish I knew the Japanese for that...

Chris

Mmm, I could see a Far East static display going down well: Japanese soldier, British soldier in JGs, and American infantry and/or Marines. Not to mention Commonwealth troops. Hell, maybe even some Dutch (if there are any that do Far East)

Yes, best of luck with this one Comrade!

I'm sure sooner or later some others will join you - like Soviet stuff, the cultural aspects of the Japanese people will prove a fascinating subject for those who like to dig deeper than guns and gongs.

Andrei

Naka !,

all the best with it mate, thought you looked the biz at this years Campaign event. Hopefully see you again soon

See you in the Jungle !

Dave

p.s. Am I really too tall for the Emporer !! Always makes me smile when I see 'Empire of the Sun' on TV. Christian Bale standing on the building at the airfield, shouting ' P51 Mustang, Cadillac of the skies !!'

We've got a P51 for our event next year, fancy being on 'our' airstrip ?
