i went in holliday to normandy when i was 11 or 12, we stayed in a small farm house which had been turned into a mini hotel not far from sword beach. the guy who owned it bought it as a derilict ruin, it had been this way since the end of the second world war.
upon arival he cracked open a barn with a very rusty padlock on it and found 500 of these and 150 unused german motar shells.
this item is believed to be some sort of an anti personel mine detonator, but myself, i couldnt be sure.
this was one of the last 3 he had and he gave me it while i was staying there, its made from aluminiumand has the stamp dms 43 on one side.
would anyone have the knoledge to identify it?
dave

basicaly its part of a fuse system, it has a spring, possobly a charge inside.
the plunger would screw on the spiggot at the top, and the explosive charge at the bottom and would have aplictions on all types of pressure sencitive mines, anti personel or tank.

Its Part of a DZ.35 A This is a push igniter designed for use with improvised mines and road obstacles in conjunction with prepared charges .It can also be be the main igniter of the heavy anti-tank mine when so used the the head(not on this one) can be screwed up or down to fire at diffrent degreess of depression
A pressure of 130-165 Lbs is enough to fire the igniter this = a depression 1/3 in
the base plug is missing on this one the bot with the threded area and hole is the top
