About 7-8 years ago i had two lovely S-mines. one was 44 dated with 6mm chopped wire shrapnel and tin cup covering the ejecting propellant. the casing had a little pitting. The other S-mine was an 1939 dated one with ball bearing shrapnel, this one had a lead cover with a metal ring secured by screws that covered the ejecting propellant (black powder). This was in perfect condition with shiny insides and original paint etc, these came apparently from Russia a two hour drive from Moscow, found in an old bunker along with a load of German engineering equipment. The guy who sold them had quite a few he was a reenactor who owned a German half track so i believe. For some stupid reason i got rid of them and now i would like another one in good nick if i can find one.
I have a mint condition three pronged z35 fuze and shipping cap to go with the new one. The S-mines i have seen lately are rusted and pitted to hell. Does anyone have any good ones for sale and what are they going for these days.

The outer cases of S mines will always be pitted - they were made of very poor quality metal and sand cast! All of mine have the same exterior finish on the outer pot.
