Hi All,

I was looking at a gun-shop near me which is now selling PPK's, Colt 1911 etc in 8mm black (New spec). The look ok. He did mention that you can get blank firing Lugers but he's not sure where from.

I did ask if he meant PFC but he said no, definately 8 or 9mm.

Anyone know where i can get one or even if they definately exist ?

Cheers,

Mark

I know the P08 had some probs but it still looks cool. I have a P38 and had a Walther made ppk when i was 18. Sadly, i sold it long before i started ww2 re-enactment and i intend to buy a new PPK from this gunsmith.

They're £ 110 each and are double action on first shot ! Still 8mm Semi though. I would love a blank firing Mauser Bolo or similar, that would be something.

I will be getting it in the next 10 days so will post details of the shop and the pistol if its any good.

Are the Lugers made of monkey metal?

Most of the blank firers you find are made of the crap casting metal. For the very reason they are cast not machined from stock and it's less likely to be converted by naughty lads if it blows up in their face.
The German made Brownings you see are a much better made gun than the italian stuff. Of the 2 Italian makers Kimar are often better made than Bruni.

More reliable than what? What do you compare them too? How can you make this comparison if you 'only just got them'.
Rather a sweeping statement and one that is hard to justify.
They may be better made than say a Bruni but I'll wager they are not as well put together as say an Umarex.
That said my old, old Bruni P38 [a Webley stamped import] is still going strong and will still go through 2 mags without trouble.
I dont want to bumb you out with your new purchase, they are fab and lots of fun, but such generalisations do threads no good.

compared to bruni models i meant sorry Poacher. Its because I've used a friends before, Im not a gun nut as such, I dont own anyother than my old blank luger until recently, I was impressed with my friends Kimar one compared to his earlier Bruni one i used which wasnt as reliable in my experience so far. Sorry Poacher didnt mean any offence or to lead anyone astray. My apologies once again. :(

Hi all
There are 3 different Makers of the blank firing lugers in germany(as far as i know):

Erma: made in the 70ties and early 80ties: rare and expensive like MGC MP40
caliber 8mm blank, Gun only 90%size of the original!

IWG:Those are the ones from the 80ties and 90ties which are "crap" ie a lot of malfunktions and parts give up early, caliber 8mm blanks stay away from them.

ME- Cuno Melcher GmbH : Model ME P08,for sale since 1 or 2 years now, 3 different finishes avaiable, caliber 9mm!!! blank,
dont know about the quality, homepage from the manufacturer with data and pictures here:
http://www.me-sportwaffen.de/dispitemgr ... p?g_no=201
Maybe you email them and ask for a UK dealer since they dont sell to individuals there.
Price in the shops in germany approx 189euro for the blued, 199euro for the aged and 215euro for the nickled.
Hope that helped a bit........
Regards
Detlef
PS. IF THOSE ARE NOT LEGAL IN UK DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT TO BUY ONE!

I'm afraid these will be illegal in the UK so please don't buy one.

Regards

Steve :)

It's the 'Gas alarm' and 'supplementary barrel' bit that give it away as a no go for the UK. It can fire flare [alarm] and cs [gas] from a screw in cup/discharger [sup' barrel]. That is a big no no.
Attempt to add one of these in your collection and you will be looking at the old bill on your door step rather than the postman.

Does anywhere in the UK make blank firing ones of these (obviously to current legislation!) I'm afraid I'm new to the world of blank firers in the sense of owning one, so if anyone knows where one could get a Blank Luger or even a PPK if there even made at all would be great.

Many Kind Regards,
