Patrick,

Shame about the rifle as you did all the hard work getting the bits together. Would have looked good.

How much you looking to sell the scope for? May be interested as I am thinking of adding the traditional zf39 set up to my rile as well.

Good luck with the 44. It's a lovely weapon.

I know, I was a bit gutted as I spent ages looking for/sourcing the correct parts for the last type of LSR rifle, but I'm sure I'll feel a lot better once I can finally locate an MP44! :D

As for the scope, I am looking to get £975 for that, I know it's not cheap but - to find one in original finish, military spec with sunshade, milled recoil ring etc, its a very rare original scope. Also these days, with all the Czech rubbish, just trying to find an original is probably the hardest part.

Best regards,

Patrick

Patrick,

It is a lovely scope, and looks in lovely condition. Good luck selling it.

Are you going to add a zf4 to your 44 if you get one? Lovely weapon With the scope on. Seen a few origs in museums and they look awesome. Would love one myself, maybe when I win the lottery. Lol.

You at w&p you'll probably find a 44 there. Can find anything there. Lol.

Good luck.

Thank you!

I hope to get an MP44, but whether I can get one with the rail for the ZF4 (or the earlier MP43/1 that used the ZF-41 sharpshooters scope) that'd be great, but both of these rifles are extremely rare, and an MP43/1 old spec deact sold for £5000 not too long ago!!!!! So maybe it will just have to be the old standard MP44 for me... not that I'm complaining though!

I'm hoping to get to W&P this year, I went last year but didn't actually manage to see an MP44 anywhere, although it was my first time so I was a bit shocked to see that "you can find anything there!". The MP44s though are getting very hard to find as people just don't want to sell them.

Thanks again,
Patrick

I saw a few last year. It's something that if they are for sale they probably go quickly now.

Good luck with the hunt.

Right... That's it, I got the scope out of its box today once again, ready to list on eBay, but I've decided to keep it and now finally get it mounted on the rifle! So I'll buy another LSRmount, but as for fitting it to the rifle (I wouldn't be confident/don't think I'd be able to or have the tools required) to do it myself, so if anyone could recommend a place where I could get this done to a good standard in the UK, but a place that doesn't charge an arm and a leg like the £200 I've been quoted already - that would be greatly appreciated?!

Unless of course £200 seems reasonable - I wouldn't really know as I have really looked into it before now??

Thanks guys

Patrick,

Glad to hear it. Try http://www.cgfirearms.co.uk based in Luton (just outside) and he specialises in scoped rifles. He has loads and also does the refund on optics aswell. I think. I broughht my FAC from him. Try him he may be worth a go.

It's a specialist sort of tools etc. but £200 seems steep. Hope this helps.

If your at w&p pop over and have a chat. I'll be with Panzer Lehr in living history field.

Good luck. Look forward to seeing it.

The quote for £200 I received was actually from CG Firearms, but I guess if it's done right (which I'm sure it would be!) then maybe it's worth it...

I'm afraid I couldn't/can't make it this year to W&P unfortunately, but if I go next year and you are there as well, I will of course come over for a chat. Hope you had a good time and thanks again for all the help!
