You cannot fit an MG13 magazine directly onto the K98. It has a floor plate, not a suitable magazine well.

There was a specially made extended magazine used on some Mausers in WW1, this attached by replacing the existing floorplate. (Sarco had some in the USA, I guess they were repro at $65, search for Trench Magazine)

Shrops, It is indeed the MG13 mag but the mag needs a little tinkering to fit.
Then it is fixed into place by removing the K98 floorplate (its not a permanent fix)

The Mag is then loaded via strippers.

the only problem with this is.... on a sec 1 you are only supposed to have a capacity of five rounds, by fitting the mag you could be making your gun illegal.

this is how I See it, but as always stand to be corrected.

yes the same thing is true here in Canada. You would have to have an "etended magazine" license and they are very hard to obtain as it is absolutly illegal to hunt with a magazine with the capacity of more than 5 rounds. And if you did manage to get the license it is just to possess not to use

There is no 5 round capacity limitation on Sec 1, otherwise all Enfields and many other rifles would be illegal.

yes it is a mg 13 mag and no it will not just slide it it will need cutting down and welding/soldering to a modified floor plate

there is no way of just filing off a bit and slapping it in

the mg13 mag has feel lips like all mags so these will need to be removed
( the k98 mag lips are built in the gun)
plus the mag has to be secured to the weapon properly as once the feed lips are removed and the mag pushed in place
the second you go to use it the spring pressure pushing the rounds up will push the mag down and out of the gun

******* uk gun law ***********

there are no restrictions on how many rounds a mag can hold

shotguns yes 2 in the mag and 1 in the breech on a shotgun licence
any more and its a firearm

ordinary firearm rifles can have as many as the mag can hold

you can have a ak47 if its a single shot you have to re cock it all the time
and that has a 30 round mag

and you can have as many mags as you want

the only true semi autos ordinary british people can own are .22 rimfire
