Does anyone have any pics to show the difference between a Large ring k98 mauser and a Small ring k98 mauser? I hear these terms used but have no idea what it means

Are you sure your talking about a K98 rifle and not the M98 (C96) Mauser pistol "Broom handle”?
I say this as there is two variations of the C96 pistol hammer, the “Large ring" which is associated with early production and the later small ring hammer which can be seen typically on the “C96 Standard commercials” models.

This site has all the info http://www.gunsworld.com/mauser/c96_serial_us.html

Cheers
