If you look through gun mart in the firearms section there are normally live K98's for sale.
Also try Ryton Arms although they do sell deacts, they will sell you K98's as live, a friend has got one it is in brilliant condition.

As for F.A.C. I think it cost's about £40-£50 which last's 5 years before renewing. You should be able to get the forms for fac at your local police station.

Yes, I agree with Glen - Gun Mart is the best (and possibly only?) magazine full of adverts from gunshops selling firearms. Although I have also dealt with Ryton Arms and always found them helpful.

The Firearms Certificate is £50 which lasts for 5 years. Althoguh you can get the application form from your local police station, I would suggest that you actually find out the telephone number of your county police HQ and ask to speak to the Frearms Licencing section. That way you can explain why you are applying for the cert, and they will be prepared. Do you want the rifle for just re-enactment or will you be joining a shooting club? I only have my licence for re-enactment, and the firearms specialists at the HQ can go through what they want you to do to be able to get the cert. You will need to have a gun cabinet (Gun Mart has loads of ads for these too!) and the Police may put a clause on your licence that you can only buy blanks if you are going to use it soley for re-enactment. They may also want to come round and inspect your security arrangements (where the cabinet is to be sited) and check that you are actually a member of a recognised re-enactment group (at least this is what Essex Police did!)

Hope this is of some use - if I can offer any more help let me know!

Also if there is a shooting club near you it may be a good idea to join, as when it comes to applying for a FAC if you are seen as a member of a shooting club there will be slightly less questions and so I have been told they process the paperwork quicker.
