Without wishing to go really silly on cost. Who makes the most accurate repro flying kit items? A little research says the following, but would welcome other suggestions and or criticism on the following.

Aero leather:
1933 pattern gloves.
BoB pattern Irvin jacket.

Lewis leathers:
1936 flying boots.

Steve Kiddle:
1932 Mae west.
Seat type parachute & Harness.

I'm also struggling to find B type helmet, D type mask and MkIV goggles. Anyone reproducing these?

Cheers.

Looking at the prices of some of this repro kit, you would do better sourcing originals!

Hi chap,

Steve Silburn is your man for the B types and D type masks - had one of his masks and they're truly the best quality money can buy, can't vouch for the helmets though as I've never owned one.

Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay for the rest mate - gauntlets come up on there quite frequently! I'd steer clear of repro flying boots to be honest, in my own opinion they don't stand up close to the originals but I'm a bit of a stitch counter...

Not thought about original bits? (apart from the mae west and harness of course - mental prices!!). I believe Steve Kiddle is running particularly low on bits for a harness so you'd need to source a lot of it yourself..

Regards

Euan

In a nutshell, "BoB flying kit" and "not wishing to silly in price" are not compatible phrases.

Agreed, Ric - if you want to do BoB correctly, unfortunately you have to pay for it - the correct flying kit is expensive...

In addition to the reproduction pair I'm selling. Would anyone be interested in a pair of "original" size 9 1936 pattern boots? Trying to thin out some of my surplus.
