Just acquired a wooden box of the type M319 Mk1. Labelled for PE4 and dated 77.

I'm pretty sure I recall this type being on the scale of issue for WW2 but am struggling to find when and what for. The Bocn forum has little to no info on them, so I'm hoping someone here knows a bit about them?

Cheers.

Hi Simon! Last Sunday at the carboot I bought a M319 Mk1 box (though mine is dated 1945 and is not PE4) and researching it to find out more about it I came across this post of yours!
