Were any of the early type twist knob 2 inch mortars converted, i.e. shortened to the length of the Airborne ones for use with Airborne forces?

Thanks in anticipation!

My 2" Airborne mortar is the twist knob type. Don't know much about it tho it does have the 'angle iron' base.
