Anyone know the thread size of the nut to hold on the firing lever for the 2inch mortar. Found a lever and lost the nut so i thought i would be able to use a thread gauge to work out the tpi and diameter but found that the gauges are out from this thread by a fraction. Would this be a BSW thread? Also anyone have the diameter or AF of the nut could have worked this out by measuring a mortar spanner that fits this particular nut but don't have one.

I have no idea but most British Small Arms of the WW2 period were in BA as the hundreds of engineering contractors supplying parts had this common thread available.

That's a real common size too so should be spoilt for choice.
