Sorry to be boring but these have been featured before. Still good films though.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one." When my Dad did his training in WWII with the KRRC he was trained to fire the Boys and one thing he was told was do not fire it on gravel. The gravel would grind up one's elbow :shock: due to the recoil.

Cheers,
Peter

had a Section 1 Mk1 Boyes which i used to fire in the 1980s; recoil overrated, just like a big unstoppable push to the rear, while your sightpicture suffered from the 'hyperspace' effect - everything just seemed to accelerate away to streaks like you were on the Enterprise :D ;
will try to post an image of the muzzle blast which is pretty impressive on sand firing point.

interesting but nothing like as unpleasant to fire as, say, a handful of rounds through a .303 Martini carbine :( ......ouch!
