Has any body scrach built a piat before if so any tips
i have loads of sheat metal and all sorts of equipment to make it
im aslo after dimenshions for it aswell. :)

we have one in the tigers, and also a mortar all built from scratch. if you see us at a show come over and have a word with our corp.

other than that i'm no help sorry.

His is almost finished. Built from scratch with about 85% original parts. Looks the mutts ...... and having it's first outing next month i believe.

i did not know we had one. Hwo made it i want to make one for my collection as a real one is a bit on the expencive side do you think their is room for one more. i would like to have a go.

who made it? i dunno, talk to Paul. i did actually meet this fella at stoneleigh but didnt get his name. it was a case of "i recognise that gun" "oh do you now?" "yeah, i built it" lol

but the piat is meant to weigh like 38Lb (not sure on the exact weight) and i know that i couldnt carry that AND a fully packed full battle order for long (FBO on its own probabbly weighs more than me!)

Just a tip if you're building from scratch. Try and use imperial scratch as the metric stuff is just a bit thinner. :wink:

I am sure somebody will find your reply usefull but it isnt necessary for O.G.'s build as the PIAT didnt require any electrical mechanisms to perform, it was all mechanical which is proably the reason that they jammed alot. Even then O.G. Proably doesnt even want it to work as it could end up being illiegal.
