Im looking to buy a Bren, but there is a huge difference in the prices...why are some mk1's only £125 and some other Marks £300+?

Is it just rarity, or for their desirability or what?

I have been offered a "mint" Mk1 on a jeep mount (although I have never seen a Jeep mounted Bren) For £200, is it worth it?

This is the big supplier at the moment. It's a case of compare to there's and you choose.

So, as I dont want a scope, or anything else, then an ordinary Mk1 will be fine?. Im just assuming that most of the issued guns were just normal, with those that could be modified in the minority?

An ordinary MK1/MK2 will cost about £195 or so

Well you cant actually put the no32 scope onto the side of the bren, they made mounts but they could never get the eye relief right, so sadly abandoned the project. One interesting bit of info though is that the designers couldnt be bothered re-designing the drums afterwards so the deflection drum stayed on the left side, cos if it was on the right the bren mag wuld have gotten in the way.

............sorry, full of useless information.

a mate of mine has an original bren mk1, got it years ago for the price of 75 pound off ryton, how things go up in price eh? :?

Paul.

My mates just got a mk1 from withams, and its really nice, said it cost him 195 quid with transit chest, cover and 4 mags, might be worth giving them a call.
