Hi,

To celebrate finishing cleaning up the Bren I bought at Beltring this year, I thought I'd inflict some pictures on my fellow forumites. Unfortunately I didn't think to take any 'before' shots, but think dust, grease, rust patches and general neglect.

I'm aware it's not a serious collectors example as it is neither matching nor mint. However, I'm quite pleased with it as AFAIK it is 'factory spec' and all Inglis parts. (I looked at pretty much every deact Bren for sale at Beltring this year and the majority appeared to be 'hybrids')

I also got it for a quite reasonable price as the deact certificate had gone AWOL. It has nice clear 1991 London Proof House markings and I'm intending to get a new one issued soon.

All comments and / or constructive criticisms gratefully accepted.

Mark

Well, well. I could be tempted if the price is right and it's a case for a MkII not a MkI. A MkII Bren won't fit in an unmodified MkI case as it it slightly longer - caused by the 'bulge' on the top of the MkII butt plate.
