Location: scotland and in one trench to far
just aqured an other pair of bren mags and one is marked a mk 3 (mk III) all the others are mk 2, mk2*. whats the differances in mag marks??? even with in the marks theres differances -one is front welded, one heavy front seamed,2 light frond seamed, one is halfed with a lips front n back and others no seams. one mag botton is stamped mk 1and a st davids star but they all look alike. very confused help!!!

Its just improvements in the strength, longevity and reliability of feed and load, uprating of springs etc etc. Some differences between the same marks is down to the manufacturer. They were made by a LOAD of different small firms, and some big ones. ED is obviously enfield, but there is JI, Inglis [canada]. A in a circle is Austins, S in a diamond is Singer I think, plenty more I'm sure, It'll all be in the Bren Machine Gun book by the collectors arms people.
