Any help is much appreciated

I'll have to look through my books.

I know nothing about it, but apparently it's British, in .303", for the RAF, circa 1942? and may have had naval use also.

If you have a photo or two, pm me for my email address, I'd like to see what it looks like.

George.

No photos, unfortunately, but from what I can gather, it looks like an upside-down air-cooled Lewis, without a butt

Nothing in my books, but a quick search on google reveals that HMS Sir Kay, one of the Roundtable Class minesweeping trawlers, had twin Hefah machine guns. Maybe one of the naval types on this forum will have some more to add.

I'm thinking it had a Trawler/Minesweeper connection, as there are rumours of one close to my location. I'll try the Naval side as well

Very interesting, I've never heard of them til now. I'll have to look on some DEMS sites and see if there's any more info.

Mike.
