Hi all,

Need some help please.
The magazine housing on my MkII Sten Gun is stamped with JL&Co.Ltd. and the serial number FQ43717
Does anyone know the makers name and where is was produced and approximately when it was made.

Many thanks

Had a bit of a google and got J. Legg & Co Ltd, Willenhall as a possible - http://www.millsgrenades.co.uk/no36_mk1_grenades1.htm & http://www.agmilitaria.com/home.php?id=1 both mention it although in relation to Mills bombs

Thanks for your reply, the information on my certificate shows the country of origin (England) and the serial number (FQ43717) but nothing else that could answer my question.

JL&Co will be the subcontractor that made the magazine housing. The 'F' prefix to the serial number tells you it was made / assembled by ROF Fazakerley.
