I find the one that just clips on the back (not shown) works best - after a few round I used to find the box one seemed to rise up a bit and often rounds just went in the front and out the back.

Do you have any details of the middle one in your picture? I have one and was told its the very rare early model but wasnt sure if that was just the guy selling it trying to make it sound better - the price was still cheap enough that it was OK even if its nothing special

Alistair

If you want a loader for MP38/40 mags, you may find that the Sten loader doesn't fit. You need a Vigneron loader, looks the same but different dimensions, usually marked Vign.

Hi Alistair, posting this here as others might be interested.

The middle one is the MkI
The left one is the MkII
The flat type is the MkIV

The right hand one I think is something postwar.

The type with round plunger rod and a ball top (common on eBay and Speedbid) are postwar Finnish Army.

George.

They are supposed to hold 19 rounds.

The plan in July 45 was to modify all magazines in ALFSEA at the Rifle Factory, Ishapore.

Magazines marked ICR.1 had the modification carried out by Indian Central Railway Workshop No.1

George.

S.18 is Bratt Colbran. They made trigger mechanism side plates and magazine parts.
