the laws in this country were written by people who had to meet the mothers and fathers of kids who got killed by a sick twisted fuckup with a gun actually.
considering that we don't have a massive gun industry or huge shooting pressure groups to defend our gun ownership I'd give the people that wrote the laws a lot of respect that after that meeting we got to have any guns left.

I own one of those shaved Webleys. Shooting anything else than .455 Webley pressure, non-jacketed .45 ACP re-loads in these is not recommended for the health of both you and your revolver. I have never shot it because there is no .455 Webley ammunition around and I do not re-load. By the way, these "butchered" Webleys can be restored, at least mechanically, by altering a .45 ACP moon-clip to hold .455 diametre cartridges. Your Webley should then head-space .455 Webley as it did before some hillbillies took a hack-saw to it.

In reply to the above poster, I would like to add that with the strictness of UK licensing I would see no problem with moving hand-guns and semi-automatic weapons back to section one. In Austria, bolt-action rifles are sold over the counter, although they still have to be registered. I have never heard of any trouble other there at all. Getting hand-guns is not much more difficult, either. If you compare the statistics, fire-arm abuse in the UK is still very much present, in addition to other violent crime, even after our dear politicians tried banning everything they can to save us from ourselves. Here in the United States I never heard about a single case in which concealed hand-gun carry permit holders have been convicted of any wrong-doings. The problem is this new-age society, filled with nutters and people embracing a despicable, void-of-morale culture. I read somewhere than paganism is the fastest growing religion in the UK. It is a tragedy.
