Hi Everyone

Had been reading the post in the wanted section about a M1897 and the replica model by Tanaka had been mentioned, but no-one knew what they were like up close.
So I thought I`d post some pics of the one that I`d brought.

I had been looking for a deact, but met with limited success so thought I`d get the next best thing and `jazz it up`The result you can see here.

When I got it, the woodwork was a much lighter colour, but a couple of stains and a polish later, it looks good. The none metal parts, the receiver & barrel are ABS plastic, pretty strong, but they look plastic, so I gave it a coat of varnish, strange I know, but it gives the appearance of metal now. Took some emery paper to the blued metal parts, to scruff them up a bit, make it look like there`s some age to it, and painted any of the bare metal parts.

Its a very good quality replica, it chambers and ejects cartridges (special Tanaka dummy cartridges, only) I always wanted a military shotgun, but could never find a deact one (in my price range) I haven`t decided what, if any impression to use this one with.

I got it from Modelguns UK, the guy was really helpful and I can`t fault the service.

If anyone wants to know anymore about this, just ask.

...the lower section of your sling is on backwards - brass hooks should be at the front - normally attached into the longer upper section

Nice though

Did it come with the heatshield?
