Post subject:  WPG replica Hawkins 75 grenade

I was looking to fill the gap in my grenade collection but don't justify the huge £400 plus price tag of an original No: 75 Hawkins grenade. So I thought I will buy a replica one, it seems that WPG do a nice replica but I read somewhere that the cap is an unscrewable casting rather than a proper tin screw cap, can anyone confirm this. Anyone have a WPG replica, what do you think?

Is the whole thing cast resin and not a metal tin.

I have never tried to remove the cap but the whole can and pressure plate are metal.

I was told by a friend that the gammon replicas need much improvement, because these two grenades were used by American airborne hence the ridiculous price tag otherwise they would go for a reasonable price. There's another company I think Spanish who sell denex stuff also sell Hawkins replicas not sure if the are WPG stock, I would refer a tin made replica rather than a resin copy.
