Hi all

Anybody have any idea how the M1A2 Grenade was carried on the person and how many? I assume it was carried without the grenade attached until readied for immedeate action?

Cheers

Tony

If you are talking about what you had on a landing craft on D-day, then 1st Division Troops had the following:-

If you where Number 4 of the five Rifleman team on the Assault Boat you would have just :-
1 Smoke Grenade
2 Frag Grenades
1 M7 Launcher
10 Smoke Rifle Grenades

If you where Number 1, 2 or 3 of the five Rifleman team on the Support Boat you would have :-
1 Smoke Grenade
1 Frag Grenade
1 M7 Launcher
12 Anti Tank Rifle Grenades

This is based on 16th Infantry information, it may vary in other units.

Thanks Chaps

Wayne, 12 AT Grenades plus other kit, thats a hell of a load, how would that be carried in an M2 Vest or something?

The M1A2 is the adaptor for the Std Mk11 Grenade, do you know when that came in?

Thanks

Tony
