I been reading accounts about how the 508th where given a “10 pound mine” prior to the d-day jump that was “attached to the musette bag”. I’m having problems finding what mine it was, what it looked like etc………

Can anyone help?

I’m looking for photo, diagrams, spec, etc

Thanks

What's the weight of an M1/M1A1 anti-tank mine, Jonno? As far as I know, each unit was issued a quantity of these, and most guys who ended up with then took items out of their Musette Bags to fit them in, leading to the bags ripping open/off with the weight after heavy opening shocks if their plane was flying too fast...

Cheers,
Glen.

It taken 2 weeks to restore it from the rust mess that arrived in the post, but I think I have nearly finished
