Hi.

Do all Colt 1911A1's have the small lanyard ring underneath?

Looking at purchasing a deac and it may just be in the photographs, some look like they do, others don't?

Any help will be appreciated.

Freedom of expression is essential in enabling democracy to work and public participation in decision-making. Citizens cannot exercise their right to vote effectively or take part in public decision-making if they do not have free access to information and ideas and are not able to express their views freely. Freedom of expression is thus not only important for individual dignity but also to participation, accountability and democracy. Violations of freedom of expression often go hand in hand with other violations, in particular the right to freedom of association and assembly.

All M1911 and M1911A1 pistols had a lanyard ring in the base of the mainspring housing. It was also very easy to remove, by simply knocking out the retaining pin, which was done by many post war purchasers of these surplus pistols.

A good source for spare parts for M1911 and M1911A1 pistols is the Gun Parts Corporation, in New York State. If your pistol is missing the lanyard ring, they'll be sure to have it, and don't forget to order the retaining pin too!

All military 1911 and 1911A1 pistols had lanyard rings, as this was one of the things specified by the US Army when they set out their requirements. The pre-1911 models didn't have this feature.
