I'm going to start restoring an 81mm mortar bomb (possibly an M43A1) soon and wondered if anyone has any information regarding the following:

1) How to disassemble the fin section from the bomb.

2) Colour paint used.

3) Text that needs to be on the bomb.

I'll post some pictures in a day or three but from first look it appears to have a French primer charge and the fin section is numbered "19#2" Not sure whether this is a date or a reference number.

It's looking like the bomb may be French. 1932 dated though.
