Glen,

I know what every one is saying about the mag pouches and now i have put a few more things on my belt the pouches are in the way. I don't mean to be awkward i thought they just looked good on the belt. We all live and learn i'm keeping them until i get an ammo bag. I'm not saying i'm wrong or right i just get a little bit annoyed when you say you have a certain piece of equipment then every one jumps all over you yes its important but it is also just a hobby. Thankyou anyway bad week not alot of sleep bit grouchy (KIDS)

hey bruce
dont want to be seen to be jumping all over you or anyone else

you do what you want ,its your money- but if i wrote a book and said littlecote was the home of the 82nd airborne and sold that book to lots of people who believed it and repeated it ,would i be wrong- as its only a book-who knows- general gavin may have looked at that house and thought" i should have that"!coulda, shoulda, woulda

as for reenactors in it longer than you- yes some do wear wrong stuff- but should come to the same conclusions many of us on here have i.e through research /discusion-we all buy the same books!
just my opinion-always happy to help-hope you get the mags-maybe try THE GUNNER- i have had some of him before
cheers

Sorry you've lost me why are you mentioning Littlecote. If it is regarding my comment at the end of my little rant about me having soul use of Littlecote then obviously no keeps up with the events page where i asked for 101 re-enactors to take part in scenarioback in april. I have soul use of Littlecote and its 101 , 506 connection because i work there as the stores manager, tour guide and part time historian. The reason i said it is i want to get it across to people that yes we make mistakes with buying equipment and live with. I don't care if i get it wrong and over a period of time i will change but only as and when i want to. Every one who jump all over others because they have just got some wrong bit of equipment should do it constuctively and not in a way the belittles them. i not saying your one of them but it seems that a lot of people have a lot to say. so i'm saying yes i might have a piece of kit thats wrong but i got something that no one else doing 101 -506 has got and that is soul use of littlecote house the HQ of the 506 and you know what no one can tell me it is wrong. yes other groups have used Littlecote but its at my invitation. So others critasiszing others for being 1 piece kit incorrect then so what at least i'm doing something to keep the history alive and i got a house to do it with .

re-read what i wrote -its about improving ones impression- not whos got the key to a house

glad you have and its ww2 history is preserved-no doubt you will have other events there- just hope when the public ask- did they use this kit ??etc, the reply contains accurate information ,not " well no, but i bought it anyway and wear it cause i can"

going off thread so will end it there
cheers

I have to give the visitors the correct info as i would not be doing the house's history justice. When we do any airborne i leave it up to the SELHG to do the talking about the kit etc as i'm to busy hosting and show around. We ain't had no complaints yet. My kit will cahnge and yes i do take on board the info about what is correct. It just gets my back up the way some people jump straight on you ,we are all still learning and its the way its said you know what i mean. If some one said to me get rid of the 3 mag pouch because it was not used but only when you can but its ok for now because it fills up you kit then thats fine but when people start on you get rid of it it never happened do this do that can't have this can't have that then 2 fingers to them because we all get it wrong and perhaps i' ve made more than some but when i turn out infront of a coach load of Americans coming to see the house then it does not matter because they are over the moon to have tour with guys and gals in character. Some people need to just calm down. I have my kit being sorted with advise from friends who know whats what. I ve still got sole use of the house though.

Dave thanks for listening you see where i'm coming from. its just a hobby not a job and there are some are a bit to dedicated ( not a bad thing) but it does sometimes cause problems and maybe resentment from others
