Have you tried Ryton Arms?

Think that's were the 3 I've got came from a few years ago. Although I may be mistaken!

Cheers,
Glen.

Hello Bruce

I think you made this quote in the SARA pics thread:

"We all want the proper stuff and we all make bad purchases such as getting an SOF 42 101 jump suits and leaving the stars and bars on i learnt the hardway and corrected it. Live and learn is the name of the game."

So for 101st a/b do not use:
3 cell thompson /grease gun mag pouch
5 cell thompson pouch with 30rnd mags
No evidence of their use like this in the ETO with A/B units that i know of- inc 17th A/B AND 13TH A/B
only evidence i know of for grease gun mags being carried in a bag is Lt Bobuck 3/506 using a thompson bag with mags squashed and taped in- photoshoot pre-d-day

put the mags in those big pockets on your trousers

hope this helps

Thankyou for the reply taken on board but i've seen other re-enactors with them that have been doing the showing off for alot longer and as far as i'm concerned i'm only learning off of them. Don't take this as critisism but i don't like to follow the rest i like a small bit of difference. I look at this way i've landed in Normandy i've lost my leg bag with my garand in it i only have a knife. I come across a dead trooper with an m3 i grab all of his gear. he is carrying his mags in bags and and pocket but i want to carry a bit more so on my journey i fin a 3 mag pouch that i can stick more m3 mags in so i take it. sounds like a fairy tale but is that not what could of happened they begged, borrowed and stole to give them the upper hand. They might not have jumped with them but they could have ended up with them. it is possible just because there ain't no photo don't mean it didn't happen there isn't a picture of every weapon carried by every trooper or with what he ended up with. wars hell take what you can get and use it. each to their own .

PVT LITTLECOTE

i have got one thing though that no other has and that is sole rights to 506 hq and proud of it.

Perhaps you misunderstood.

The 3-Mag Pouch you refer to is a USMC item that was only made in late 1944 and appears to have never have been issued even in the Pacific in 1945 (maybe in small numbers in case anyone finds a photo...).

It would NEVER be available to be found or "begged, borrowed and stole" by a 506th trooper in Normandy.

But, each to their own, if you still want to go down the line of wearing one, feel free, it's a free country. You can join the ranks of the other people who wear them I guess!

Cheers,
Glen.
