Hi All

Just got a Wincester carbine last week, and the stock right hand side it has a stamping on i have not seen before.

Its a circle about the size of a 1 p coin with what looks like 2 crossed cannon barrels inside it.

Any ideas anyone?

thanks

bwb

It's the Ordnance acceptance cartouche. There's one on my Inland as well.

BJ has it correct matey..standard Ord dept "wheel" cartouche.......should have been one stamped on the stock of every US produced wartime carbine.

Regards

LLoyd
