OK, 0 above 6 on the heel, what appears to be a 4 in the sling cutout (the 4 has a short 'leg'), nothing in the oiler slot - the upper is not original, since it's a different colour (light wood). Is that any good fer you?

Unfortunatley not OGG....:-(...on the slope of the sling well will be a 1,2,3 or 4 Letter code..like Q-RMC or OI..or TN or BNP or W.......on the oiler side of the stock there should be even feintly a cartouche like a pinwheel or in a square box a 6 digit code like UEF over RIA....on the flat of each side of the top hadguard..is this 2 or 4 rivet ?......will be a the same set of maker codes....?

Regards

Lloyd

Sorry Lloyd, but that's all the markings :( Is there a possibility that it could be one produced by another nation? When I got it, it was covered in a Chocolate Brown Paint.

OGG..are you sure the "4" isnt the remains of an A...as there is a maker code for stocks OA and RA-O...should have a P proof on the heel.Yes plenty of post war or aftermarket stocks made by foreign armies..:-(

I need to hold it in my hand to check it out for originality Ogg.....

Regards

LLoyd

Sorry to give you this, but it looks as if it was never an A, both sides are vertical. It looks as if it was made using upside down Tees
