Is there any way of dating a 20rd magazine for the BAR? I'm looking for a couple of WW2 examples, if anyone knows of any?

thanks
Ian

They will be either parkerised or blued steel......some have a maker name on the spine or a C prefixed number code and DONT buy any with an "X" pressing on each slab side as these are for the Belgian FN -D clone BAR

Regards

Lloyd

Also to note if you're "buying blind"/no reference to go by from a militaria stall or similar, the 7.62 chambered FN-DA1 variant has straight/non-X magazines, but the size/shape of them (less deep and noticeably taller) is easy to see when held up against a .30 magazine.
