I'm NOT hosting the event, just attending as a part of a group but thought it looks excellent so would spread the word

The host has been very helpful and the site looks great!

Several from our RAF group (Tail End Charlies) will be there. Not sure if I can make it.

Great event! Nice lay out (and blisteringly hot weather! Colour me an interesting colour called shade of lobster!) with loads of public. Replica Spit with real engine (BRUM!) and a nearby pub!

Deffo going next year I reckon!

Good to see you again Andy (and Genius Features  ), hope you manage to fix that Sten up ok.

Good Evening Mr Pink

I disassembled it and then reassembled it (and no parts left over  ), a couple of people I know, know welders so it should be sorted soon. I'll then touch up the paint a little.

Quick question, did you find the mag for it?

Regards

Do you know for sure the engine was genuine , it didn't sound that good to me , I thought it may have been a lorry engine without an exhaust . I was looking for the exhaust , if it was real , but couldn't see it ie flames smoke .

I did manage to get there - for the Saturday - to join our RAF group, Tail End Charlies - 1 officer, 4 WAAFs and 4 OA. Loved it. We all travelled on the train carrying kitbags. Surprising how little details make a scenario.

I did speak to the guys after, they told me it was a real Merlin engine however the prop wasn't connected to the throttle and it apparently does sound different when it's not "lined up" as he explained it.

Were they camped at Gotherington? We were camped right next to them I think.
