We were talking about films at work and a clip from a film is driving me mad because I can't think which film is from, I'm 95% sure it's WW2....

The scene is being narrated and goes like this...

Group of Germans all get executed apart from one. The camera then pans down to the man's hand (which is shaking) who is holding a cigarette that burns down to his fingers.

The words are along the lines of this....

"And they shot them all, apart from that one guy who they let live".

Please please help me and tell me which film it's from...it's driving me mad!

Damocon is right.

Band of Brothers. In fact the second episode 'Day of Day's is when the action happens.

Donald Malarkey talks to the captured German PoW who is American, shortly before the shooting happened.

The scene where you recall the shooting with the cigarette happens in Episode 4 'Carentan'.
