Bussum Bridgehead 2005, Operation "Liberty 60"
Crailo, Bussum, The Netherlands
Europes biggest Allied liberation re-enactment event. Allied transit camp with hundreds of re-enactors from all over Europe, with their vehicles and equipment, set up camp in the Dutch Military training grounds "Crailo", Bussum.
Liberation run on Thursday May 5, our national liberation day, thousands along the road and in towns.
Friday camp open for verterans / VIP's, liberation ball in Bussum with live big band.
Saturday and Sunday camp open to public, with mock-battles, militaria stalls, food and drinks.

To celebrate the v.e day celebrations, Waltham Abbey gunpowder mills are holding an event at the historic gunpowder mills. This event will be attended by many superb reenacting groups and civilian reenactors. Also present will be a display of the firepower museum. There will be a small battle planned for both days.

VE Day Celebration
Dover Town Centre

Military vehicles, trade stalls, re-enactors and a 40's dance at Kings Hall on Saturday evening, with another one at the Town Hall on Sunday. Also a childrens street part on Sunday. To attend as a re-enactor or military vehicle owner contact Alison Williams.

Droitwich Spa Town Centre

On Saturday and Sunday 7th and 8th May, Droitwich Spa Town Centre (Victoria Square, St Andrews Street and the High street) will be closed to ordinary traffic and filled with 1940's Military Vehicles and Classic cars. Three flyovers will take place at different times including a Spitfire and two DC3's.

Annual Seafayre festival
Amble, Northumberland
This year's event is to be used to pay homage to the 60th anniversary of WWII. This event has been running for 8 years and so has the basics covered such as camping provision, toilets, parking and water. The venue is outdoors, and basically right on a beach, (although there are no dunes just a harbour).

The biggest military vehicle and collectors fair in the world. The War and Peace show spans four days and specialises in displaying the best military vehicles from around the world. With re-enactors and battle re-enactments from all modern conflicts.

The 4th 1940s festival
Stowe Landscape Gardens, Buckingham
An exciting mixture of 40s dance, wartime fashion, music and a trail around Stowe's extensive grounds. The trail takes in both Stowe's wartime architecture and a variety of Living History groups performing scenarios throughout the day.

RAF Millom 40's week-end
Haverigg, Cumbria

Aircraft preservation group sponsored event with lottery and private funding. Battle on Saturday and Sunday. Old airfield site. Derelict buildings, pill boxes, farm land. Good for Armour. Kompanie 1 half-track taking part. Free weapons and ammo. Pyrotechnic effects for battle. Very friendly and accommodating event. No sigrunen problem. Free camping.

The Victory Show

Taking place on the site of a former searchlight battery protecting the former 'Power Jets' site where Sir Frank Whittle built his first jet engines. Entries are invited from both WW2 living history groups and vehicle owners to attend this event. Open to re-enactors from the 8th. P51 mustang in attendance and a 1940s dance.

Held at the historic RAF Twinwood Control Tower, where Glenn Miller took his fateful flight from.
Special memorial event. With a short memorial service, christmas carols, salvation army Brass band, and then a Big Band Orchestra to finish the afternoon on a high. From 12noon to 5pm.
